The pop-out tray solves the problem the counter box cannot: a day that happens somewhere else. Each of the seven days is its own small box, sitting in a rack, and it lifts out with a fingertip. Wednesday goes in a jacket pocket with its morning and evening compartments together, and the other six stay in the rack on the counter with their lids shut. When Wednesday comes back it drops into its slot, and the rack still reads left to right as a week.

The versions differ by what is inside each day. The plain pop-out has one compartment a day; the AM/PM version splits each day into a morning and an evening; the four-a-day version gives each box four lids for breakfast, noon, evening and bedtime. The rack itself comes in Medium and Large, and the Large is the one to choose if a day has to hold a capsule as well as tablets. Rainbow lids are the easiest to read across a room; the black-on-black case is the one that does not look like a pill box on a desk.
