01Powder for a spoonful of applesauce
Twist crushers that turn a tablet to powder inside a sealed cup, a three-compartment crusher that stores the next two doses in its base, and the Cut N Crush that cuts, crushes and stores in one tool. Small and Large.
A crusher is for a tablet that will not go down whole, and it works by a screw thread: the tablet sits in the cup, the lid turns, and a ridged face grinds it fine enough to stir into yoghurt. What must come first is the same check as for cutting, and stricter. A modified-release tablet crushed to powder releases the whole dose at once, and an enteric coating exists to keep the drug away from the stomach; neither survives a crusher, and the pharmacist is the one who knows which tablets are which. The tools on this shelf assume that conversation has happened. After it, what you are choosing is the size of the cup and whether you want the halves and the powder stored in the same tool.

This page is general information about medication tools, not medical advice. Whether a tablet may be split or crushed, how much of a medicine to give and what to do about a missed dose are questions for the pharmacist who filled the prescription and the doctor who wrote it.
Prices are figures from our last update; an Ezy Dose habit updates them on a schedule, and the figure at the till is the one that counts.
02Before you order
What people want settled before they buy a pill crusher.
Modified-release tablets, marked MR, SR, XL or LA, which release the whole dose at once when crushed; enteric-coated and gastro-resistant tablets, whose coating is the point; and a few others a pharmacist will name. Film-coated and chewable tablets usually can be crushed. Ask before the first turn of the lid.
A spoonful of something soft the person will finish: applesauce, yoghurt, pudding. Take it straight away rather than storing it, and ask the pharmacist whether the medicine may be taken with food at all.
Yes, with more turns of the lid. The Large crusher has a wider cup and a longer thread and gets there sooner; the Small is a pocket tool that stores a dose in its base.
Every Ezy Dose size, every lid, every colourway
