Ezy Dose pet pill organizer

A dog on a heart tablet is on the same schedule a person would be, and forgets it just as reliably, so the organizer does the same job it does on a kitchen counter: seven lids, one dose each, and an empty compartment as the record. The cutter is for a vet who has written half a tablet; its shield keeps fingers off the blade while a small, hard veterinary tablet is being held still. The pill shooter is the tool a veterinary school recommends over pilling by hand: the tablet sits in a rubber tip, goes to the back of the tongue, and is released, with water after it so it does not sit in the throat. Crushing a pet’s tablet into food is the vet’s call, not the owner’s.

This page is general information about medication tools, not medical advice. Whether a tablet may be split or crushed, how much of a medicine to give and what to do about a missed dose are questions for the pharmacist who filled the prescription and the doctor who wrote it.

Prices are figures from our last update; the Ezy Dose approach updates them on a schedule, and the figure at the till is the one that counts.

Questions about Ezy Dose pet medication

What people want settled before they buy a pet pill organizer.

Can you crush your dog’s tablet with an Ezy Dose pet crusher?

Only if the vet says that tablet may be crushed: some veterinary tablets are coated or slow-release and stop working as powder. When crushing is allowed, the powder disappears into a spoonful of wet food.

How does the Ezy Dose pill shooter work on your cat?

The tablet sits in the soft rubber tip; the shooter goes in at the side of the mouth over the tongue, and the plunger releases the tablet at the back where the cat swallows it. A syringe of water after it, so the tablet does not sit in the throat.

Is the Ezy Dose pet organizer any different from the one on your own counter?

Same lids, same plastic, a paw or a bone on the lid so the two boxes never get confused. It is not child-resistant and belongs up and away like any other medicine.
