An oral syringe is the most accurate way to give a child a liquid medicine, and the reason is the line: the dose on the label is in millilitres, the barrel is marked in millilitres, and the plunger stops where the label says. The bottle adapter is the part that makes it work at three in the morning. It sits in the neck of the bottle, the syringe pushes into it, the bottle turns over, and the dose draws up without pouring anything. The tip goes into the cheek pouch, not straight back, and the medicine goes down in two or three small pushes.
The 5 mL barrel is for infant doses, where a half-millilitre matters and the marks are further apart; the 10 mL is for a toddler’s two teaspoons in one draw. The three-packs are for a house with two children on different medicines, one syringe each, and the five-piece set adds adapters and a brush that reaches the barrel. Every syringe here is BPA-free and comes apart to wash. A kitchen teaspoon, by comparison, holds anything from 2.5 to 10 mL, which is why the American Academy of Pediatrics asks parents never to use one.

This page is general information about medication tools, not medical advice. Whether a tablet may be split or crushed, how much of a medicine to give and what to do about a missed dose are questions for the pharmacist who filled the prescription and the doctor who wrote it.
Every size and colourway in this line is priced on its own; the Ezy Dose lineup keeps the figures current and the till is what decides.

Questions about Ezy Dose oral syringes
The dose the pharmacist wrote, to the line
Why is your Ezy Dose oral syringe marked in millilitres and not teaspoons?
Because the label does. Doses for children are written in millilitres, and an NIH-funded study found that parents who thought in teaspoons had twice the odds of a dosing error. The barrel is marked in mL so the plunger stops on the number the pharmacist wrote.
How do you use the bottle adapter on an Ezy Dose syringe?
It presses into the neck of the medicine bottle and stays there. The syringe pushes into the adapter, the bottle is turned over, and the plunger draws the dose up through it without pouring; the cap goes back on over the adapter between doses.
Which Ezy Dose syringe do you need for a baby under a year?
The 5 mL. Infant doses are small and the marks on a 5 mL barrel are spaced for a half-millilitre; the 10 mL is for the two-teaspoon doses of a toddler. Check the label chart by weight before age, and ask the pharmacist to show the dose on the syringe you will use.
