A baby cannot blow its nose, and a bulb aspirator does it for them: squeeze the bulb, seat the soft tip in one nostril, and let go, and the mucus that was keeping the child from feeding comes out. A few drops of saline first loosen it. The tips are soft and rounded, and the bulb comes apart to wash and dry, which is the part people forget and the reason the aspirator lives on the draining board rather than in a drawer. The ear-syringe-and-aspirator kit is the same bulb with two tips, one for each job.

The earwax removal syringe is for an adult ear that a doctor has said is safe to flush: after drops have softened the wax, the three-stream tip sends warm water along the wall of the canal rather than straight at the drum. It is not for a blocked ear nobody has looked into, and it is not for a child. The saline packets go in a rinse bottle for a stuffed nose, and the thermometer is the plain digital kind that reads under the arm, in the mouth or, for a baby, where the pediatrician says.

This page is general information about medication tools, not medical advice. Whether a tablet may be split or crushed, how much of a medicine to give and what to do about a missed dose are questions for the pharmacist who filled the prescription and the doctor who wrote it.

Every size and colourway in this line is priced on its own; Ezy Dose essentials keeps the figures current and the till is what decides.

Questions about Ezy Dose nasal aspirators, ear syringes and lice combs

A nose a baby cannot blow

How do you use an Ezy Dose bulb nasal aspirator on a newborn?

A drop or two of saline in the nostril first, then squeeze the bulb before it goes in, seat the soft tip just inside the nostril, and let the bulb go. The suction draws the mucus into the bulb. Wash the bulb in warm soapy water after each use and let it dry open.

Is the Ezy Dose earwax removal syringe safe to use on yourself?

Only when a doctor or nurse has looked in the ear and said the wax can be flushed. With the wax softened by drops, the three-stream tip sends warm water along the canal wall rather than at the eardrum. Not for children, and not for an ear that hurts or has ever had a perforation.

Which do you need, the Ezy Dose ear syringe or the nasal aspirator?

The bulb is the same; the tip is not. The aspirator tip is short and rounded to sit in a nostril, the ear tip is longer and narrower to direct water into a canal. The combined kit ships both tips with one bulb.
